However, due to the harsh winters, almost no beef in Ontario is truly 100% grass-fed. Cows are supplemented with soy or grain to get them through the cold, and to manage soaring hay prices once snow hits the ground. If you're after true 100% grass-fed ground beef, Australia has some incredible farms. They don't have to worry about snow covering the ground, and can let their cattle graze the pastures their entire lives. This beef is often less fatty, and ungraded as it cannot meet AAA (or equivalent) standards β but instead has a distinct flavour profile many people love!
